A photo could never do this scene justice. It’s rare to capture this view without numerous
visitors lining the stone wall to get a better look of this bend in the Genesee River. Known as
the Tea Table area of Letchworth State Park, the spectacular view brings onlookers, picnickers
and wedding parties on a daily basis.
This photo was meant to be a portrait of Letchworth State Park. I felt including the stone
wall and pavement brought some familiarity to the viewer, because if they spent a day in the
park, they easily spent much of it leaning over the stone walls to check out the views. A
pastel-like color scheme was chosen to convey a feeling of calm weather, relaxation and the
peacefulness of the Tea Table view.
