This peaceful, natural location near Naples, NY is a favorite of many locals. Very few know
that it was a sacred sight for the Seneca tribe, who believed this to be the crack in the earth
from which their forefathers stepped out of and founded their great tribe at the chosen spot of
Kanandague. This picturesque spot is the cradle of a once-great civilization; the keepers of
the western door of the Iroquois Confederacy.
This particular shot shows the beginning of many narrow cascades of the lower gorge- from
which the tribe’s forefathers were said to be born from.
