I was concentrating so hard on finding the entrance to Clark’s Gully in Naples – to see the
Seneca’s cradle of life, I didn’t realize the beauty of this scene. It wasn’t until I stepped
out of the gully that I saw this. The scene I guessing was just as beautiful as the one the
Seneca forefathers must have seen as they were born from the earth on this very spot.
Of course the vineyard wouldn’t be there. The farmland behind it either. But the hills and
the sky for sure.
One of my favorite photos, this shot encompasses several layers to build this scene. Each layer
has its own colors and texture. Altogether it creates a shot I’m very proud of, but at the same
time worries me that I may not be able to rival it.
