The lighting here hints to the days in Rochester’s rustic past when the High Falls district was
bustling with industry. This 96 foot classic drop on the Genesee River is visited by hundreds
daily and during warm summer nights the "Pont de Rennes" bridge is packed with spectators
checking out the laser and fireworks show. Surrounded by towering buildings, both new and old,
and a cliff face scarred as a result of centuries of development, High Falls powerful is
reminder of how things change.
This photo was taken from the very same spot where I married my wife in 2005.
